| The flower imagery in The Handmaid’s Tale may well interpret the struggle between the handmaid and the Aunt, the Wife. This paper, in the enlightenment of Michel Foucault's theory of power, reveals how the Aunt and the Wife help to exercise the power in Gilead by disciplining and surveilling the handmaid. It analyzes how the handmaid, the “docile body” in the carceral of Gilead，later fight for the subject status. |
