| Guided by English for Specific Purposes (ESP) school’s genre analysis, this essay reveals the discourse structure of English hotel brochure in terms of move and step as well as typical linguistic features. The findings are discussed by comparing them to generic conventions of other promotional genres, i.e, sales letter and typical commercial advertisement. We also explore genre-mixing in the writing of hotel brochure, which is to achieve an effective balance and synergy of both promotional and informational discourses. |
