| The characteristics of the direct fabrication of holes in walls of old all-brick masonry buildings were analysed in this paper. Based on "The Design Codes for Masonry Structures in China GBJ 3-88", the authors derived a formula for calculating the allowable clear span and the support cross-sectional area for hole making, tabulating the formula.The reliability of this method of calculation was verified by the actual project. |
