| Medical research and clinical practice have to fully meet all national and international ethics and regulations. The recently reported gene editing twin girls violated current ethics and is resulted from illegal medical practice. Taking CCR5 gene as an example, this paper analyzed the genotypes of the CCR5 alleles and the limitations of current gene editing and gene therapy technologies applied in germ line. Finally, future technologies required by germ line gene therapy are illustrated. |
