| 40 neurasthenic patients with insomnia as chief complaint were derided into 2 groups. Magnetic iron plates were placed under the electrode of the EEG in the experimental group. While nonmagnetic iron plates were similarly placed in the control. Sleeping EEG waves were recorded. The difference of the 2 groups was marked. We conclude that magnetism can inhibit the activity of the cerebral cortex, and hence initiate sound sleeping. |
