| Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard is the first novel by Indian writer Kiran Desai. Through the portrayal of Sampath and the ignorant residents in a remote town called Shahkot in North India, the novel reveals the life and the state of mind of the Indian people after India's independence. This paper applies the research method of comparative analysis to explore the power relations between Western and Ayurvedic medicine, reveals the bad influence on Indian medicine and society, which was caused by western colonization, and shows the persistence and practice of Ayurvedic medicine by Indian people at the bottom.It aims to deconstruct the western medicine discourse and construct the Indian traditional medicine discourse. |
