English Summary:
Bio-politics is a new genre of Western political science, covering the fields of medicine, ecology, psychology, physiology, etc.,aiming to better understand human political behavior through the integration of life sciences and natural sciences. This paper attempts to analyze the internal and external boundaries, bacteriology, and medical missions of international health in Britain and the United States in Maugham"s Rain from the perspective of bio-politics. Through the cultural quarantine of Miss Thompson at Pago Pago quarantine station and the missionary"s desire quarantine, this paper tears down the veil of colonial struggle between Britain and the United States, which is sacred and cooperative on the surface, but actually dirty and hypocritical. It reveals the author"s colonial consciousness and criticizes the hypocrisy of missionaries. At the same time, it tears apart the essence of colonial competition between British and American empires and revealed the decline of the British Empire in the early 20th century.
