| In The Robber Bride, the exploration of self-image and female image by Toni, Charles and Lots, the three protagonists in the state of ethical confusion and split subject, constitutes the main ethical line of the text. The plots of the three characters’ construction of the structure of mimetic desire twice in their exploration are the ethical knots on the ethical line. The three characters realized that the traditional female virtues they tried to imitate had failed and that they no longer suppressed their split subject during their first attempt to construct the structure of mimetic desire. In their second attempt, they formed a double bondage relationship with the mediator Zenia, but they gave up violent revenge because of ethical selection and became truly moral people. |
