| Researchers of Shuowenguangyi, mainly focusing on the interpretation of its words and expressions, paid little attention to the thoughts within the book. As a matter of fact, Shuowenguangyi embraces Wang Chuanshan’s thoughts of democracy, nationalism, philosophy and his people-oriented thoughts. These philosophic thoughts not only display his disparaging of Buddhism and Taoism, but also present his comprehension of the theory of Yinyang and five elements. They show the subtleness of his materialism as well as the imperfections of his idealism. |
