| This paper explores Han Irrigative development based on archaeological data and historical documents, from the point of view of floods and droughts.Frequent floods and droughts caused poor agricultural harvests, famine as well as the ensuing social unrest. In order to reduce the level of floods and droughts, and protect the normal production of agriculture, the Han Dynasty encouraged irrigating farmland water conservancy, and achieved considerable success. |
