| As the British and American New Left intellectuals, Hoggart, Thompson and Jameson tried to reconstruct the history of social development from the industrial revolution until today from ethnographic, historical texts and postmodern literature and art resources in scrutinizing way. The reconstructed history is a “progress” one full of people’s changes of daily lives and microscopic political struggles against the capitalism and its “progressive” ideology. In this way the Culturalists inspire the world-wide proletariat and vulnerable groups to struggle for their equal rights of way of life. |
