| 《论语》是记录孔子及其弟子言行的重要著作，现在流传着不少译本。文章以理雅格和辜鸿铭的两个《论语》译本为依据，选取译本中“仁”和“礼”两个核心文化负载词的英译为研究对象，采用定量定性的分析方法，旨在揭示翻译目的对译文语言表达的制约。研究结果表明，不同的翻译目的形成了风格迥异的译文，翻译目的在一定程度上制约了译文语言表达的选择性和准确性。 |
| English Summary: |
| Lun Yu， as a great classic embodying insightful instructions of Confucius and his disciples， has many different versions at present. This paper aims to include the dominant factors which influence the translators’ choices of linguistic expressions for culture-loaded words “Ren” (仁) and “Li” （礼） by way of a comparison between two fairly influential English versions of Lun Yu rendered respectively by the famous Scottish sinologist James Legge and the noted Chinese eccentric literati Ku Hung-ming. The result of the study shows that translation purpose， to some extent， influences the correct choice of the linguistic expressions in the two English versions. |
