| Marla Qin-fu has the similar life experiences and the same deep feeling of grasslands as Sholokhov, which makes him have an extraordinary feeling of closeness to Sholokhov. The Vast Grassland is a successful example of his learning from Sholokhov’ creative art. From the plot arrangement, the description of customs and sceneries, his expressional and narrative approach, and his method of characterization, it can be found there are intimate relations between Vast Grassland and Quiet Don. Meanwhile, Vast Grassland has some artistic traces borrowed from Virgin Soil Upturned. |
