| In the information age, news is regarded as a particular form of information that modern man needs for his survival. The production, processing and communication of news are, therefore, governed by the motion laws for information, and news translation is much the same as information processing. Thus, it is most effective to apply the theory and strategies of information processing on our own initiative in news translation. The author holds that context analyses play a crucial role in news translation and editing-translation is the most commonly used method in our contemporary translation practice. |
