| Reference is one of the cohesive ties in English text. It uses some referential words to interpret certain reference items including some entities, conceptions，situations and etc. These referential words link parts of a context and cohere the whole English text. Medical English is a kind of EST (English of science and technology).The purpose of the study of reference in medical English text is to help understand the actual interpretation of reference items within the text to ensure perfect translation. |
