| Metaphor is not only a figure of speech,but also a way of thinking.Metaphor participates directly in the perception process of mankind.This paper starts with the characteristics of cultural models and metaphor separately,then it discusses the relationship between them.The paper puts forward the idea that metaphor is an essential source of cultural models,it is rooted not only in language and thinking,but also culture.Metaphor reveals different cultural models of the community to which people belong,different cultural models influence people's selection and expression of metaphors vice versa,hence,they are closely related to each other. |
