| With the linguistic theory of adaptation as a theoretical foundation,the paper adopts contrast analysis method to analyze different characteristics in English and Chinese collocations and proceeds to present the linguistic fact that difference in collocations across languages is in existence.It leads to this conclusion: English learners must adapt themselves to English collocation characteristics and avoid using the same collocation in English with the Chinese counterpart so as to enhance accuracy in English expressions. |
