| The late 20 th century witnessed abroad a rapid development and a wide application of the Item Response Theory (IRT). A test based on IRT can be employed to evaluate an examinee's individual trait by his or her response to one item or more and to calculate the measuring error of this trait. Therefore, this theory will play a great role in the research and development of computer-aided adaptive testing. |
