| 民族凝聚力的形成是一个饶有趣味而又极富现实意义的问题。文章从历史地理角度论述了地理环境在中华民族凝聚力形成中的地位 ,认为有利的自然环境是中华民族凝聚力兴盛不衰的物质基石 ;四周封闭的地理环境是促使中华民族文化共同化的动力源泉 ;频繁反常的气候环境和南北贯通的运河网络是促使中华民族具有强大凝聚力的外在因素 ;而北方少数民族不断南下为民族凝聚力的壮大提供了丰富的催化剂和养料。 |

| The forming of national unity is an interesting topic full of practical significance. The paper discusses the status of geographic environment in the forming of Chinese national unity from the slant of historical geography. It asserts that favourable natural environment makes the material connerstone of Chinese long-flourishing national unity; close geographic environment is the motive power promoting the commonization of Chinese cultures; the frequently-varying unusual weather and the clear Grand Canal are the outer factors developing the strong national unity; and the continuous southward movement of northern minorities offered rich catalyst and nourishment for the strengthering of national unity. |
